Garanti Bank increases interest rates for deposits
May 28, 2008 - Garanti Bank increased interest rates for deposits in RON and foreign currency over 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. For deposits placed by individuals in RON over 6 and 12 months, the annual interest rate is 10.5%, fixed for the entire period. The annual interest rate for deposits in EUR over 12 months is 5%. Deposits are automatically renewed on maturity date for a period equal to that of the initial deposit, at the interest rate applicable on the renewal date. The interest rate may be capitalized or transferred to the current account.
In the same time, the bank increased the interest rates for deposits in RON, EUR, USD placed by legal entities. Following this increase, the annual interest rate for deposits in RON over 12 months is 9.5%.
"Since the beginning of this year, we have constantly adjusted our products and services, in order to offer competitive banking products to our customers. At present we have one of the best lending offer for individuals, which we plan to pair up with the best saving products", Okan Yurtsever, Retail Banking Director, Garanti Bank, stated.
