Garanti Bank increased up to 14.75% the interest rates for RON deposits over 12 months
January 30, 2009 - Garanti Bank increased the interest rates for deposits in RON and EUR over 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. For deposits placed by individuals in RON over 6 months, the annual interest rate is 14.50% per year, while deposits over 12 months bear an interest rate of 14.75%, fix for the entire period. The annual interest rates for deposits in EUR over 6 and 12 months are 6.35% and 6.50%, respectively. Deposits are automatically renewed on maturity date for a period equal to that of the initial deposit, at the interest rate applicable on the renewal date. The interest rate may be capitalized or transferred to the current account.
Besides this increase, Garanti Bank offers its new clients 0.25% higher interest rate for any deposit, for any tenor, in any currency. New clients are the individuals who come for the first time at Garanti Bank and who acquire any product or service offered by the Bank. The offer is valid until 31 March 2009.
