0.1% of Garanti Bank's Bonus Card POS transactions will be donated to SOS Satele Copiilor
Bucharest, 16.11.2009 – Garanti Bank donates to a charity association, SOS Satele Copiilor, 0.1% of the total value of Bonus Card transactions carried out using any POS in Romania during 16th of November – 16th of December 2009.
SOS Satele Copiilor is a non-governmental organisation, helping the children who are abandoned or who risk of being abandoned. The organisation is active on international level for 60 years, carrying out its activities in Romania for 19 years.

With this donation we wish to increase the value we add to community by establishing a long-term relation with a charity organisation by providing part of the necessary financing for helping children in need.”, Murat Atay, General Manager of Garanti Bank stated.
Bonus Card is the first multi-branded chip card in Romania, a smart payment tool which rewards consumers with bonuses for each purchase they make. Within the partner merchant network in Romania, of more than 1.600 partner merchants, the users may make purchases in installments without interest and comissions and may earn bonuses for each transaction made with Bonus Card. Cardholders may use the bonuses collected from transactions for free shopping within the merchant partner network. Bonus Card is available in Standard, Gold and Platinum versions.
SOS Satele Copiilor builds families for children in need, helps them shape their own futures and is involved in the development of their communities. Nowadays, over 900 children are protected and helped by SOS Satele Copiilor Romania. In SOS Satele Copiiloril, Cisnadie and Hemeius, every child receives a social mother and, together with other 6-7 children, they form a family.
