Garanti Bank registered in 2009 more than 5 times users for Garanti Online
16.04.2010 – Garanti Bank registered at the and of 2009 approximately 30,000 users for its internet banking service, Garanti Online, a level by more than 5 times higher as compared to the same period of 2008. At the same time, the number of active users increased by more than 8 times in 2009 versus 2008.
This evolution was also acknowledged by e-Finance magazine that designated Garanti Online the internet banking service with “The highest growth rate of customer number in 2009 versus 2008” within e-Finance Gala Awards organized on April 15th, 2010.
“2009 was not an easy year for any of us, banks or customers, but I think that many of us learnt the lesson of costs and time efficiency, which we should always apply, not only in bad times. I am convinced that more and more of our customers started to understand that they have to pay more attention to costs. I also believe this is one of the reasons for which we registered such a significant increase in the number of our internet banking users.” Okan Yurtsever, Retail Banking & Bancassurance Director, Garanti Bank, stated.
The internet banking service from Garanti Bank offers its users innovative features allowing them manage complex banking transactions in real time at lower costs than at the bank’s counters, anytime, anywhere.
Garanti Online was launched in October 2007, initially for individuals and starting May 2008 it is availabe also to companies. The increase registered in 2009 is mainly due to the evolution of individuals customers number that grew almost 6 times, up to approximately 26,000, while the companies exceeded 3,500 as compared to 1,000 registered at the end of 2008.
