GarantiBank increased to 14.75% the interest rates for RON deposits over 12 months
January 30, 2009 - GarantiBank increased the interest rates for deposits in RON and EUR over 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. For deposits placed by individuals in RON over 6 months, the annual interest rate is 14.50% per year, while deposits over 12 months bear an interest rate of 14.75%, fix for the entire period. The annual interest rates for deposits in EUR over 6 and 12 months are 6.35% and 6.50%, respectively.
GarantiBank launches the first contactless payment device in Romania
November 21 2008 - GarantiBank launches the first contactless payment device on the Romanian banking market, equipped with MasterCard with PayPass technology. This technology allows its users to make small value payments in a fast manner, only through tapping the card on a contactless PayPass reader. The contactless payment devices incorporate a contactless chip that communicates with the payment accepting device through radio waves.
Avon Romania and GarantiBank launch the first perfumed card of South Eastern Europe
October 20 2008 - Avon, together with GE Money and GarantiBank, launched the first MasterCard credit card available exclusively addressing its direct clients, issued on a regional level (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia). The card may be used for purchasing Avon products, as well as for any kind of shopping in Romania or abroad, within the available credit limit. The card issuing fee is zero, the administration fee is zero for the first year. The cardholder benefits from a grace period of 50 days and receives 15 loyalty points from Avon when the card is activated.
EUR 50 million financing from GarantiBank for Cosmopolis Project
September 17, 2008 - GarantiBank granted Opus Land Development a medium term loan of EUR 50 million, amount that will be used for financing the first two stages of Cosmopolis project.
The partnership between GarantiBank and Cosmopolis begun at the launch of the project, in September 2007, when GarantiBank offered Opus Land Development SA the first loan for financing the construction of the first phase of the residential project. At the same time, GarantiBank has provided consumer loans to buyers since the beginning of the project. The trust of GarantiBank in Cosmopolis- The First European City, is also illustrated by a dedicated interest rate of 5.94% offered to Cosmopolis clients.
GarantiBank eliminates the fee for cash withdrawal from any ATM in Romania
September 8, 2008 - GarantiBank offers its GarantiBank24 (debit card) holders the option to withdraw cash from the ATMs of any bank in Romania without any fee. Previously, the cash withdrawal fee was zero only when using GarantiBank ATMs. The maximum amount that can be withdrawn in one day from the ATM is 3,000 RON.

GarantiBank doubles the maximum amount of general purpose loans
July 1, 2008 - GarantiBank increased the maximum amount of general purpose loans without collaterals from EUR 15,000 to EUR 30,000 (or the equivalent amount in RON/USD/CHF). General purpose loans are granted in RON, EUR, CHF or USD for a maximum period of 10 years.

May 28, 2008 - GarantiBank increased interest rates for deposits in RON and foreign currency over 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. For deposits placed by individuals in RON over 6 and 12 months, the annual interest rate is 10.5%, fixed for the entire period. The annual interest rate for deposits in EUR over 12 months is 5%. Deposits are automatically renewed on maturity date for a period equal to that of the initial deposit, at the interest rate applicable on the renewal date. The interest rate may be capitalized or transferred to the current account.
