Garanti Romania registered 9.9 million euro net profit in the first quarter of 2013
Bucharest, April 30th 2013 – Garanti Romania, one of the most dynamic and innovative financial groups on the local market, saw consolidated net profit of 9.9 million euro in the first quarter of 2013, an almost 70% rise from the same period last year. Also, the Group’s consolidated revenues hiked to 45.4 million euro, a 62% increase from the first quarter of 2012.

Garanti Bank switches its debit cards from Maestro to MasterCard brand and adds the chip technology
24.10.2011 – Garanti Bank started to switch its debit cards from Maestro to MasterCard brand, also applying the chip technology. The new card, called Bonus Debit Card, will have as main feature the accumulation of a bonus for all the purchases paid using the card.
Garanti Bank successfully completed the first bill issue on the Turkish market
08.08.2011 – Garanti Bank, present on the Romanian market since 1998, successfully completed its first bill issue on the Turkish market. The issue was carried out to test the appetite of Turkish investors for the Romanian market and it has a maturity of 6 months and a value was 100 million Turkish Lira (approximately 40 million Euro). The issue was carried out during 03-04 August 2011.

Garanti Bank extended the partnerships for collecting the invoice payments
18.07.2011 – Garanti Bank concluded new partnerships for collecting invoice payments issued by the energy suppliers Enel and Electrica Furnizare Transilvania Nord. Thus, the two companies' subscribers may pay their energy invoices through more channels: Garanti Bank ATMs and agencies networks, the internet banking service Garanti Online and the direct debit service, available for Electrica Furnizare Transilvania Nord.
The internet banking service of Garanti Bank, Garanti Online, has overpassed 50.000 users
02.05.2011 - Garanti Online, the internet banking service of Garanti Bank, has overpassed 50,000 users at the end of the first quarter of 2011, by 70% more as compared to the same period in 2010. Garanti Online was launched in October 2007 for retail customers and starting with May 2008 is also available for legal entities.
Garanti Bank extends the channels for paying Romtelecom invoices
18.04.2011 – Garanti Bank extended the payment methods for Romtelecom invoices, by adding the following collecting channels: direct debit service, Garanti Bank ATM network, the internet banking service Garanti Online, as well as inter-banking transfer in Garanti Bank agencies.

28.03.2011 - BBVA has completed the acquisition of the 6.2902% stake of Doğuş Holding A.Ş. in Garanti Bank Turkey and the 18.60% stake of GE Capital Corporation in Garanti Bank Turkey, after securing all the regulatory approvals related to the deal, effective as of today.

Garanti Bank continues to register growth in 2010 and aims for profitability this year
8.03.2011 – Garanti Bank, one of the most dynamic and innovative banks present on the local market for over 12 years, has registered a steady growth in 2010, with significant increases all across the board, following the strategy of strengthening the market position as a local universal bank.
At the end of 2010, Garanti Bank's assets registered over 70% growth compared to 2009, reaching a total of more than 1.4 billion Euros. The bank's loan portfolio rose to 786 million Euros, a 45% increase from 2009. Furthermore, the number of customers grew by 40%, surpassing a total of 200,000. Deposits increased by 100%, reaching 560 million Euros, while the number of debit and credit cards exceeded 200,000. Garanti Bank has a national network of 74 units, having expanded by 25 new agencies since 2009.

On Valentine 's Day, electronic products, clothing and shoes - top credit card expenditures
17.02.2011 – Similarly with the same period of last year, on Valentine's Day (February 14th) top credit card transactions included electronic goods, clothing and shoes, according to an analysis of more than 100,000 Bonus Card holders, conducted by Garanti Bank. In the top credit card transactions the restaurants are also included, being the favorite place for spending Valentine's Day. The cosmetics, home supply products and jewelries have also been included in the Romanians' acquisition preferences on this day.
Bonus Card offers its customers the first hypermarket partner: Real store
03.01.2011 – Garanti Bank and Real hypermarket have concluded a partnership allowing Bonus Card holders to benefit from special conditions when paying with the credit card in all Real hypermarkets. Within the network of 25 Real stores, Bonus Card customers may purchase electronic products in 10 free installments and any other products in 4 free installments. In addition, they obtain 0.5% bonus of the value of purchases paid with this credit card and may use at the same time the bonus previously earned for making free purchases.
Garanti Turkey registered a consolidated net profit of more than EUR 1.3 billion in the first nine months of 2010

Garanti Bank and WWF launch WWF Bonus Card, the first eco affinity credit card in Romania
28.07. 2010 - Garanti Bank, together with the environmental organization WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), launch WWF Bonus Card, the first eco affinity credit card on the Romanian banking market. WWF Bonus Card is addressed to all people who want to contribute to the environmental protection in Romania. Garanti Bank will direct 0.5% of the value of the purchases made with WWF Bonus Card, to support WWF projects in Romania, aiming to protect nature conservation and protected areas in the Carpathians, along the Danube and the Danube Delta, but also aiming to promote a sustainable socioeconomic development and a low environmental impact lifestyle.

24.06.2010 – GE Garanti Bank offers Romanian customers access to Western Union fast money transfer services through the bank's network. The customers will be able to use the service for making international and domestic money transfers in USD, EUR and RON within all Garanti Bank locations.
Bonus Card has a new partner, eMAG
15.06. 2010 – GE Garanti Bank and eMAG have concluded a partnership allowing Bonus Card holders to acquire IT and home appliances products with special conditions when paying with this card in eMAG online shop, as well as in the showrooms in Bucharest, Iasi, Ploiesti, Cluj and Timisoara. These special conditions, available during June 15th – September 15th 2010, consist in the possibility of purchasing any product in 12 interest free installments, benefiting from a 3-month grace period.

09.06.2010 - Bonus Card, the credit card offered by Garanti Bank, has a new website, with a more accessible information structure and a complex graphic design allowing a better navigation and interaction. www.bonuscard.ro is an interactive and dynamic website that introduces its visitors into a virtual world where they may find complete information regarding all Bonus Card merchant partners, ongoing campaigns and special offers. The ongoing campaigns are being displayed in an original manner, on the outdoor panels located on a street in this virtual world, changing its appearance depending on the season and various holidays.
Garanti Bank celebrated Child's Day together with the children of Concordia Humanitarian Organization
02.06.2010 - GE Garanti Bank offered presents on Child's Day and took to a movie more than 100 children cared by Concordia Humanitarian Organization of Ploiesti. The children could enjoy a day dedicated to them and a special projection of the animation movie Princess and the Frog. 27.05.2010 – GE Garanti Bank, a new credit institution authorised by the National Bank of Romania, will become operational on 29th of May 2010. Garanti Bank has a strong shareholding structure, its major shareholder being Garanti Turkey, who holds 70% of the shares. Garanti Turkey is the second largest private bank in Turkey, with assets exceeding EUR 54.4 billion and a consolidated net profit of EUR 1.45 billion as of 31 December 2009, running a network of 800 branches, employing more than 16,000 people and servicing more than 9 million customers. Garanti Turkey registered a consolidated net profit of more than EUR 530 million in Q1 2010
17.05.2010 – Garanti Turkey, the mother bank of the local Garanti Bank registered in the first quarter of 2010 a a consolidated net profit of more than EUR 530 million and reached consolidated total assets of EUR 56.6 million. Garanti continued its contribution to real economy, reaching an amount of cash and non-cash loans granted of approximately EUR 36 billion. The return on average assets (ROAA) was 3.8% and the return on average equity (ROAE) registered a level of 31% in Q1 of 2010.

Garanti Bank extends the working schedule on Saturdays for two agencies
18.02.2010 - Garanti Bank launched a pilot project for extending agencies' working schedule on Saturdays. The first stage of this project is carried out during February 15th - May 15th 2010 and includes Magheru and Pipera agencies. These two agencies will keep their normal working schedule during the week (9:00 - 17:00) and will be also opened on Saturdays, between 11:00 - 16:00 hrs.

15.02.2010 - Garanti Bank Turkey, the mother bank of the local Garanti Bank, registered excellent results also at of the end of 2009. Its consolidated net profit increased by more than 60% versus the same period of 2008, up to EUR 1.45 billion*, while consolidated total assets reached EUR 54.2 billion, registering an increase of 17% as compared to the end of 2008. Garanti continued its contribution to real economy, reaching an amount of cash and non-cash loans granted of EUR 32 billion. The return on average assets (ROAA) was 2.9% and the return on average equity (ROAE) registered a level of 27% in 2009.

21.01.2010 - Garanti Bank decreased by up to 1.8% the interest rates to all secured loans granted to individuals in EUR starting January 22nd, 2010. "In 2010 also, one of the main objectives of Garanti Bank is to encourage lending of both individuals and companies. Following this first interest rates decrease of this year, we offer ones of the best lending conditions currently existing on the market. 07.01.2010 - Garanti Bank launched the cash payment service for Romtelecom invoices at the bank's counters. This new service is offered without any extra charge to Romtelecom subscribers, individuals or entities, customers of Garanti Bank or not, who have now the possibility of paying both their own invoices, as well as the ones issued to other subscribers. The payment may be carried out easily and quickly, based on the invoice.
