Security Picture

Garanti Bank has introduced a "security picture" for the purpose of thwarting so-called "phishing attacks", one of the most serious threats that online branch customers face.

What's a "security picture"? How does it work?

The second time you logon Garanti Online this new security measure is added, the system will show you eight pictures and ask you to choose one of them. The one you choose becomes your "security picture".

From then on, every time you enter the Garanti Bank online branch you should see your security picture located between the password and PIN steps.

The security picture is intended to protect you against websites that pass themselves off as Garanti Online.

If it ever happens that you DON'T see the security picture you chose between the password and PIN steps, the page you're looking at is not really part of the Garanti Bank online branch. DO NOT TRY TO ENTER THE ONLINE BRANCH FROM SUCH A PAGE! Instead, immediately notify the Online Branch Support Line at Alo Garanti on 0800.80.1234 (toll free number from any fix telephony network).
